Gi20 Prizes 2015 – Winners announced!

And the winners for this year’s Audience, Development and Jury Prize are:

Audience Prize: £1000 goes to the company that proved most popular with audiences throughout the showcase summer (onsite voting). Urban Astronaut by Highly Sprung
Development Prize: One week residency at 101 Outdoor Arts Creation Space, Corn Exchange Newbury; winner is selected by Gi20 partners. Caution: Do Not Swallow! by Collectif and Then / Karkatag Kolektiv
Jury Prize: £1000 are awarded to the company whose show demonstrated most artistic value, creativity and originality; readiness for UK and European festival touring; quality of audience response and interaction; degree to which the piece has fully and clearly achieved the original artistic intention; winner is chosen by Director of Winchester Hatfair and Programming Director of De Tuin de Lusten, Netherlands. Hex//DiVision by The Harlequin Dynamite Marching Band

Congratulations to all winners! All prizes were awarded to the companies at an official event in London on 24 September 2015, marking the close of Gi20 2015.

Gi20 2015 is coming up!

Gi20 is a national development programme to support emerging artists develop and showcase new, small to medium scale, outdoor work. A key output of the programme is to develop the careers of the artists on the programme.
This year Gi20 has commissioned six exciting companies to realise their small to medium-scale idea. The work ranges from circus by Juggling on Tap to live art by Collectif and Then and Karkatag Kollektiv; from contemporary and hip hop dance – Janine Harrington and Rationale to street theatre by Highly Sprung, and original music and spectacular costumes from Harlequin Marching BandFor further information about the companies visit www.gi20.co.uk

Gi20 2015’s presenting partners are Stockton International Riverside Festival (SIRF),Southwark Council’s Blackfriars Stories, Watermans Arts Centre’s Bell Square andHull Freedom Festival.

Gi20 is produced by Remarkable Productions, in association with Event International, who have produced the programme since it was founded in 2011. Gi20 is supported using public funding by Arts Council England.
