About

Gi20 – Gone in 20 Minutes is an exciting showcase of fresh and invigorating outdoor arts. It’s a national development programme supporting emerging artists to develop and showcase new, small to medium scale, outdoor work.

In 2015 Gi20 gives six artists/companies a development grant of £6,000 to realise their small to medium-scale idea. They will participate in mentoring sessions with Gi20’s partners and will be given the opportunity to present their work in front of national audiences and arts programmers at a series of festivals and showcase events spanning several weekends over the summer of 2015.

Six companies have been commissioned to create new small to medium-scale outdoor arts projects that feature a range of art forms – circus, music, dance and street theatre;  Collectif and Then collaborate with Serbian artist collective Karkatag to create Caution do not Swallowa circus theatre piece built around a human powered kinetic sculpture; Juggling on Tap adapt and stage their unique style of percussive juggling and dance, Rhythm Town, outdoors for the first time; Janine Harrington’s playful dance piece takes inspiration from its unsuspecting audience in Abacus/Car Park, whilst hip hop contemporary fusion dance company, Rationale, explore visual impairment in their new work Sight SpecificHighly Sprung present Urban Astronaut, a piece of promenade and static street theatre that explores climate change whilst The Harlequin Dynamite Marching Band present original music played by a choreographed 7 piece live band who wear stunning, intricate costumes in Hex//DiVision.
